A native of Beacon, New York, I received my B.A. degree magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972. I graduated from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine in 1977 with honors. While a student at University of Pittsburgh I met my future wife Elaine who is a practicing speech-language pathologist with a specialty in orofacial myology. I am a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Greater Waterbury Dental Society.

I then moved to Connecticut to attend the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, graduating in May 1988. It was there that I met my husband, David, who was my classmate. David is an endodontist in Avon and West Hartford.
